French Door Ovens

French door wall ovens are trending. They are stylish and also practical. They are great if you have limited space because you don’t have to allow room for a conventional fold down door.  Plus it is much easier on the cook not having to lift a heavy roasted turkey over a fold down door. American Range started the trend. And now French door ovens are also offered by Viking and GE. The image is of a new GE Monogram® model. It is equipped with Bluetooth, so you can preheat the oven remotely, even if you…

Cinder-Cabinets-of-the-Desert

Cinder

We recently featured the Sous Vide for precision and reliable cooking. The Sous Vide is precise because of the consistent temperature of the water bath. In fact it is often referred to as a water oven. Now enter Cinder, billed as the world’s first precision cooker.  This ultra precise griddle picks up where sous vide left off. It’s a precision griddle that claims it cooks food to an exact temperature, then holds it at that temperature without continuing to cook the food, until you are ready to eat. Unlike traditional Sous Vide, Cinder can sear, caramelize…

PGA West Project

This full-house cabinetry design and installation included providing complementary cabinetry for the kitchen, bar, master bath, guest bath, and casita.   Our client selected a deep brown textured laminate simple European-style slab cabinetry for the kitchen and baths. TSS laminate has a wood-like texture and a rich mahogany color but is easier to maintain than wood cabinetry.  A simple white Shaker door was used in the laundry and casita. Modern, graphic, silver hardware ties the cabinetry together throughout the house.

Native Trails – Farmhouse Sink

We really like products  by Native Trails. They were at the Dwell on Design show in Los Angeles this year. Here we show their Farmhouse 3018 concrete kitchen sink. It is remarkably light for being made of concrete, due in large part to being artisan crafted in NativeStone®,  a blend of concrete and jute. It is equally at home in a rustic as in a modern setting. It is available in Ash, Slate and Pearl. For more from Native Trails go to: www.nativetrails.net.
