What are the Spring 2020 design trends to watch? Whether you are considering a full kitchen remodel or looking for a fresh look, take inspiration from this round-up.

The Dark Side

Opt for deep, dark units and contrast with brighter shades elsewhere to add depth and character to the space.  Often overlooked as purely an accent color, black cabinetry and work surfaces are having something of a moment. Black cabinetry balanced with white countertops, flooring, and backsplash – plus gray accents are both on-trend and timeless.   See more of this chic and livable kitchen above on our Houzz page. This kitchen also includes some stunning PGA West mountain views you will not want to miss.

Partner Spotlight: Patterned Flooring

Highlighting another of our key Spring 2020 design trends – local partners Bedrosian Tile and Stone have several new lines of patterned porcelain tile. Statement tiles are effective in zoning an open-plan kitchen. They can also add character and definition in a master spa as shown in this example. The colors in the patterned tile provide a clear focal point and pull all the design elements together. Featured is Chateau 12″ x 12″ Decorative Tile in Canvas, Smoke, and Midnight.

The Smart Faucet

The U by Moen Smart Faucet won the Best of KBIS Smart Home Technology category at their January trade show – also highlighted here in our blog.

These smart faucets operate with voice-activated, wave, and manual controls. They also come with a smartphone app that allows you to set presets for your morning tea or coffee. No touch controls are cleaner and convenient. These faucets also conserve water. Since every kitchen needs a faucet, investing in a sleek, smart, and high tech option is a good way to upgrade something you touch every day.

Bold as Brass Finishes

Finally – one of the key Spring 2020 design trends we’re seeing more of is warm-toned hardware in modern kitchens. Gold/Brass is the ideal shade for enhancing on-trend blues and green cabinetry-adding a sophisticated touch. Often overlooked, attractive taps, hinges, knobs, and handles can transform a kitchen design. It’s the finishing touches that can make or break a design. Featured here is the latest collection from Top Knobs.  This display board perfectly illustrates this trend – highlighting organic, warm-toned hardware that will take any kitchen design to the next level.
